Providing a safe work environment for workers, visitors and the communities we operate in is of paramount importance to Viterra. To achieve this we take a proactive approach which is outlined in our Safety, Health, the Environment and Injury Management (SHE&IM) Policy.

Our focus is on continuous improvement and we have established, in consultation with our workforce, a SHE&IM improvement plan. This includes the five following programs, which all take in to consideration legislative compliance and governance:

  • Risk reduction
  • Integration of harmonised Work, Health and Safety (WHS) legislation
  • Internal audit and assurance
  • Improved injury management practices
  • Engagement and culture

We foster a culture where all employees; report hazards, as and when they find them,  approach colleagues, irrespective of who they are, in regards to any safety matter and always put safety before production needs.
