Safety Induction

Providing a safe work environment for workers, visitors and the communities we operate in is of paramount importance to Viterra.

Anyone visiting a Viterra site, above 15 years of age, is required to have a valid Viterra Safety Card, gained after completing the relevant safety induction.

The Growers & Carriers Safety Induction  takes approximately 20 minutes to complete and includes an assessment component on traffic management, operating equipment and reporting incidents and injuries, among other key safety components.

NEW information for 2016/17 season:

  • All growers/carriers with a Viterra Safety Card expiring in 2016 or 2017 will have the expiry date extended to August 2017.
  • This is to accommodate a new and improved Safety Card Induction process being introduced in 2017.
  • A new card will be sent to the affected growers/carriers prior to harvest.
  • Any growers/carriers who do not have a Safety Card will still need to complete the existing Safety Induction. Hard copies of the Induction are also available at sites or from the Viterra Service Centre.

Once you have successfully completed the assessment, you will be issued a temporary Viterra Safety Card (you will need access to a printer to print it). A new card will be sent to your nominated mailing address within two weeks.

If experiencing difficulties, please contact the Viterra Service Centre 1800 018 205 for assistance.

A hard copy of the induction is available for printing here. Once you have completed the assessment and filled in all your details fax the assessment page to (08) 8212 1723. Once received by Viterra, if 100% correct, you will be sent a card within two weeks.

Hard copy versions are also available at Viterra sites. If the induction is completed on site you will be given a temporary card so you can immediately access sites.

Trader Providers/Contractors
Before starting work at a Viterra site a Trade Provider/Contractor must undertake a site induction. The level of induction will be generic, with site/task-specific components explained at the time of sign-in at each site. Task specifics will be considered as part of the Permit System. This induction will be valid for two years.

Please note the Trade Provider/Contractor safety induction is not available online. To arrange an induction, speak with your Viterra contact.
