Growers delivered over 6,600 tonnes into Viterra’s network from Monday 5 April to Sunday 2 May.

Chief Operations Officer James Murray says outturns have been strong as Viterra continues to connect South Australian growers with end use customers through its supply chain network domestically and internationally.

“During April we shipped over 500,000 tonnes to 11 different countries through all six of our export terminals,” James says.

“Our busy teams at upcountry rail sites moved close to 200,000 tonnes by rail during April. This follows 215,000 tonnes transported by rail in March, which was our busiest ever month.

“We also transported grain through our network by road with over 4500 truck movements this month."

To ensure end use customers receive stock that meets their requirements, Viterra ensures grain in our network goes through multiple tests along our supply chain during delivery, storage and outturn.

“Preserving the quality of grain in our network is important to ensure growers maintain access to multiple markets,” James says.

“Quality management and food safety is integrated into all of our activities and operations. This is supported by our ISO 22000:2018 certification which is the highest certification of any grain supply chain in Australia.”
