Monthly receivals report

Monday 5 May to Sunday 1 June 2025 report

  5 May - 1 June 2025 Total 2024/25 harvest**
Viterra total receivals* 2,729 tonnes 3,330,689 tonnes
Western region receivals 651 tonnes 1,536,680 tonnes
Central region receivals 640 tonnes 1,164,826 tonnes
Eastern region receivals 1,439 tonnes 629,183 tonnes

Growers delivered over 2700 tonnes to the Viterra network during May.

During the month, Viterra surpassed 2.5 million tonnes of South Australian and western Victorian growers’ grain shipped for the 2024/25 season, continuing outturns to international markets through our efficient supply chain.

We are also supporting local farmers and producers to access available barley stocks for domestic livestock requirements and outturning on behalf of buyers and growers with remaining stock in warehouse.

Viterra General Manager National Grower Services, Andrew Wilsdon says despite a dry start to the season, growers’ planting programme across the state is in the final stages.

“South Australian growers are approximately 90% through their planting programmes for the 2025 season, with many working hard over the last week to finish ahead of the forecast rainfall,” Andrew says.

“The planting pace is slightly slower compared to previous years, but good progress has been made across all regions.

Andrew says as we continue to prepare for the upcoming 2025/26 season, our team across the state is focused on understanding growers’ plantings and progress.

“We’re speaking with growers regularly during the planting window to understand what they are growing so we can tailor our segregations to best suit their programmes.

“So far we’re seeing an increase in lentil planting and a solid canola programme across the state despite the dry start. We’re continuing to talk to growers to understand what malt barley varieties have gone in the ground this season to reflect that in our planned segregations as best we can.

“While planting is nearly finished, we’ll be continuing to check in with growers over the growing season to understand yields and how the quality of the crop is looking, which are also factors that help decide our final segregation plans.”
