We received over 447,000 tonnes into our network last week taking our total receivals for the season past the 5 million milestone to 5.4 million tonnes.
The Central region has received the most grain so far this harvest with over 2.3 million tonnes delivered, followed by the Western region with 1.7 million and the Eastern region has received 1.3 million.
Viterra Operations Manager Michael Hill says deliveries are slowing as some growers finish up for the season.
“Receivals peaked on Monday and Tuesday and dropped slightly but stayed steady for the rest of the week as different areas within our regions experienced wet and cool weather at various times,” Michael says.
“We are continuing to extend our hours to suit the forecast to help as many growers finish their harvest as soon as possible.
“Our employees are doing a fantastic job managing receivals and outturns to meet the strong demand for grain from our network.
“Last week our Outer Harbor, Inner Harbour, Port Giles, Port Lincoln and Wallaroo export terminals loaded vessels with wheat and barley as part of the 1.8 million tonnes of grain set to be outturned from our network on vessels by the end of January next year.”
