Farmers delivered over 330,000 tonnes to Bunge sites last week as another 13 sites received their first 2025/26 season deliveries.
Barley became the primary commodity delivered across our network, followed by lentils and wheat.
Bunge Western region Operations Manager, Nick Pratt says the region received just under 200,000 tonnes for the week.
“Harvest kicked off at our Buckleboo, Elliston, Penong, Poochera and Warramboo sites with the first deliveries for the season coming in,” Nick says.
“Wednesday marked our busiest day so far, and we’re now starting to see deliveries of all commodities as some farmers finish harvesting lentils and move onto cereals.
“Thevenard received the majority of tonnes during the week, and deliveries to Wudinna, Lock and Port Lincoln also started to increase.”
Bunge Central region Operations Manager, Jack Tansley says lentils remain the focus for farmers in the Central region.
“More than half of the region’s deliveries last week were lentils,” Jack says.
“This includes achieving our biggest day of lentil deliveries at Wallaroo since we started receiving the commodity in the 2023/24 harvest. This is a great effort by local farmers and carriers, supported by our employees moving deliveries through the site safely and efficiently.
“Across the region we now have 11 sites operating, with Port Giles, Roseworthy and Booleroo Centre receiving their first new season deliveries last week.”
Bunge Eastern region Operations Manager, Andrew Cannon says another five sites have also welcomed their first deliveries for the harvest in the region.
“Deliveries have now started at our Apamurra, Lameroo, Loxton, Tailem Bend and Werrimull sites,” Andrew says
“Werrimull and Inner Harbour received the majority of tonnes for the week, with deliveries of barley and lentils.
“Overall deliveries for the region remain slow as farmers in later areas such as the south east are yet to start harvesting. Our local teams are continuing to work closely with farmers to understand when they will be ready to deliver so we can ensure our opening hours meet their needs.”
