Make Great Money with SA Harvest Jobs: 1,500 Positions Open

Adelaide, Australia – 26 August 2025 – Premier agribusiness solutions company Bunge, following a successful merger with Viterra in July, has launched its harvest recruitment drive for the upcoming season, opening 1500 harvest jobs across South Australia and western Victoria.

With most cropping regions tracking towards a more promising season than last year due to above average July rain, a variety of roles are available from October through to January 2026 across Bunge’s 55 local sites, with no experience required.

Bunge’s General Manager Operations, Gavin Cavanagh, says Bunge’s harvest workers play a vital role in deliveries of local grain and ensuring it gets to market quickly and efficiently.

“To support our harvest workers in excelling in this very important role, we provide all training and development to ensure workers have the skills they need to help us receive grain safely,” Cavanagh says.

“Our harvest roles are ideal for students, travellers, job seekers and semi-retirees who are wanting to earn good money with above award wages. There is the opportunity to gain hands-on experience while making new friends and exploring the local region in their free time.

“Bunge offers a supportive team environment with the potential to travel during harvest to work at different sites. Positions available include grain testing, grain handling, bunker and weighbridge operations, with career progression possible across the company.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming new and returning workers this season.”

According to PIRSA’s latest crop and pasture report, South Australia’s winter crop production is forecast to be up on the previous year by more than 40% at 7.6 million tonnes in 2025/26, reliant on the above-average predicted late winter and spring rainfall.

Farmer Mignon Dunn from Rudall on the Eyre Peninsula, a prime cropping area for wheat, barley, canola and lentils, is cautiously optimistic about the upcoming harvest.

“We need more rain but July has really delivered for us with 90 millimetres received, compared to the average of 40 millimetres,” Dunn says.

“When it's time to deliver to Bunge, the support of harvest workers is essential to ensure we can deliver when we need and keep our grain moving smoothly to market. Their efforts are truly valued and play a major part in every harvest.

With two daughters having worked the harvest with Bunge, Mignon says she can testify to the safe and supportive conditions.

“Both of my daughters are experienced harvest workers with one of them now in a full-time finance role with Bunge, and the other still coming back home to work while at uni.

“They love the money, the working conditions and reconnecting with the community. It’s a real boost for many regional towns as in their downtime they’re catching up with friends and supporting local businesses.

“I’d highly recommend a harvest role with Bunge to anyone. My girls have always had a great time, felt supported, and learned valuable new skills while on the job.”

The Bunge combination with Viterra was successfully closed on 2 July, bringing together two highly complementary businesses to create a premier agribusiness solutions company.

In Australia, Bunge has 55 storage and handling sites and six port terminals across South Australia and western Victoria, three storage and handling sites including a port terminal in southern Western Australia, two import facilities in Victoria and New South Wales and eight offices spread across the country in key growing regions.

With a promising season taking shape in the Bunbury region of Western Australia where Bunge’s sites are located, the company also has 30 harvest roles available at its port and upcountry sites. These roles are close to being filled with a large number of workers returning from last year.

For the coming harvest, the viterra.com.au website is the place to find information about SA and western Vic harvest roles and to apply.
