Backing Community Connection with Bunge Donation at Port Kenny

Adelaide, Australia – 28 April, 2026 – The Port Kenny and Districts Sports Centre, the area’s only community club, has been named one of the regional South Australian organisations to receive a community donation from Bunge, a premier agribusiness solutions company connecting farmers to consumers of food, feed, and fuel.

The club has been awarded a $3000 donation following a nomination by Witera farmer, Craig Kelsh, who is one of three recipients of Bunge’s postharvest survey community donations.

“I want to thank Bunge for giving us the opportunity to secure funds for our local community while sharing feedback on harvest; it’s really a win-win,” says Craig. “The Port Kenny and Districts Sports Centre plays a major role in keeping us connected socially. Prepared by volunteers, the community Sunday night meals are a highlight, bringing together local growers, fishers, tourists, friends and families.”

The volunteer-run club is a central hub for the area, bringing the community together as a place to host events, meetings and social gatherings.

“We’re immensely grateful to Bunge for the financial support. The club really is the backbone of our region, there’s no other place for people to come together,” says Nathan Little, Port Kenny and Districts Sports Centre President. “Our building has just doubled in size, and we’re looking forward to continuing improvements, from general maintenance to upgrading our amenities. We’re extremely grateful to Craig for taking the time to nominate us and help us make things even better.”

Other regional organisations nominated to receive a $3000 donation from Bunge include the CFS Spencer Group and the Coomandook Amalgamated Pastimes Club.

Farmers and carriers were invited to enter the community donation award nominations by completing Bunge’s 2025/26 postharvest survey, providing feedback on the company’s harvest operations to help it understand what went well and areas for improvement.

“After each harvest, we ask for feedback from our customers to learn how we can further support them in the future,” says Nick Pratt, Bunge’s Western Region Operations Manager. “Offering the opportunity to nominate a community group of their choice for a donation also allows us to support the organisations that mean the most to our customers.”

With a majority of its employees, customers and suppliers located in regional South Australia, Bunge drives a range of sponsorships and initiatives to contribute to the communities in which it operates, including supporting various farmer groups and events.
