Adelaide, Australia – 11 May, 2026 – Bunge is proud to announce the third year of its Country connect programme, which will bring a team from the Adelaide Football Club to three rural South Australian towns for community football weekends.
Bunge’s Country connect 2026 events, which include Saturday match day activities and Sunday junior coaching clinics, will be held at:
Eyre United Football Club, Ungarra – 23–24 May
Loxton North Football Club, Loxton – 30–31 May
Blyth‑Snowtown Football Club, Blyth – 13–14 June
“We’re extremely pleased to continue this programme for a third year, building on the strong response from the communities who participated in the weekends the last two years,” says Jane McBride, Bunge Communications Manager. “Country connect is about giving back to the communities that support our business and offering them a unique experience close to home. Local sporting clubs play a critical role in keeping regional communities active and connected, whether you’re out on the ground or cheering from the sidelines.”
Past Crows AFL and AFLW players attending Bunge’s Country connect weekends are involved with supporting the club’s Saturday matches and evening event and pass on their football skills as part of the junior football clinic on Sunday.
“These weekends are a great opportunity to further build on the club’s connection with country footy and visit more rural and regional areas that are so passionate about the game,” Peter Caven, Adelaide Football Club Premiership Player, who attended a weekend in Wirrulla last year, says. “I’m looking forward to visiting more regional clubs, supporting game days and helping to build the love of the game with the next generation. These visits leave a lasting impact, not just for young players but for the whole community.”
According to Tom Fielke, Loxton North Football Club President, the opportunity to host a Country connect weekend alongside the Adelaide Football Club and Bunge has the whole club buzzing with excitement.
"It is an absolute privilege for Loxton North to be selected for Country Connect, as it’s a fantastic opportunity to provide our junior players with expert tips directly from the pros. We are especially excited to welcome past AFLW players to inspire our up-and-coming female talent,” Tom says. “We’re expecting a bucketload of kids at Sunday’s clinic from across the region to soak up this expertise. It’s a proud moment for our club and community and hopefully it will be remembered as one of the highlights of the season."
The match day and evening events on Saturday are open to all. Sunday’s football clinic is free and open to boys and girls from across the region aged 5-15, of any skill level. To register a child to attend the football clinic, visit the Bunge Australia website, bunge.com.au.
