Which safety card do I need to visit a Viterra site?

Your business, and any contractor working on a Viterra site, need a current sitepass registration.

You need a current sitepass card if you are directly working for and/or subcontracting to:

  • Bowley/Colliver Transport
  • Symons-Clark Logistics
  • Ceduna Bulk Hauliers
  • Vin Callery Transport
  • Glen Carron Bulk Haulage
  • Wishart Contractors
  • Quinn Transport

You need a current Viterra safety card.

You need a current sitepass card.

No card required. Visitors to sites and passengers who remain inside a vehicle do not need a card. A member of staff will provide visitors with a site induction on arrival at the office.

Q: Who needs a Viterra safety card?

A: Growers delivering grain to a Viterra site, and carriers NOT working directly for and/or subcontracting to the following companies are required to hold a valid Viterra safety card.

  • Glen Carron Bulk Haulage
  • Quinn Transport
  • Symons-Clark Logistics
  • Vin Callery Transport
  • Wishart Contractors

If you work for one of the carriers listed above, or you are carrying out work other than transporting grain at a Viterra site, then you will need a sitepass card.

Visitors and passengers do not need a safety card.

A: If you hold a valid sitepass card, you do not need a Viterra safety card as well.

Q: Why do I need a Viterra safety card?

A: The Viterra safety card verifies that you are up to date with the relevant safety requirements, procedures and responsibilities relating to transporting grain at Viterra sites.

Q: How do I get a Viterra safety card?

A: You will receive your safety card once you have completed the Viterra safety induction for grower deliveries, which has updated safety information that you should be aware of.

Upon successful completion of the induction, you will be able to print a certificate to carry on site until you receive your new card. Your Viterra safety card will be sent to your nominated mailing address within three weeks.

A: A Viterra safety card is valid for two years. To ensure everyone is up to date with the latest safety information, Viterra safety cards need to be renewed every two years.

A: No, visitors and passengers do not need a safety card. Passengers must remain in the vehicle in operational areas. Visitors being escorted on site or only entering the classification office, for example, having a sample tested, do not need a safety card. It is only required for those driving the vehicle that is delivering grain to the site.

A: If you are transporting grain at a Viterra site, ensure you carry your Viterra safety card. Viterra employees can ask to see your card at any time, along with photographic identification to verify it is your card. This is the only safety card recognised by Viterra.
